Starring Mithun Chakraborty as Shambhu Dada, he will be the ringmaster of a crew of highly eccentric characters including Ali Asgar, Dr. Sanket Bhosale, Sugandha Mishra, Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lehri, Ridhima Pandit, Tanaji and Aru Verma. The entire cast was present at the launch.

Every episode will feature this team of misfits aspiring to make a blockbuster play to impress Shambhu Dada in exchange for a promise of a world tour. But as luck would have it, nothing goes right. The hilarious turn of events will push the madcap team to start afresh with a new play every week. Little do they know that Shambhu Dada is a sham, whose is running his own business by selling tickets for the play.

Ashish Golwalkar, Sr. Creative Director, Sony Entertainment Television, said at the launch of the show on Jul. 11 at Filmistan Studios, “‘The Drama Company’ will bring a never seen before comedy format on Indian television. We are delighted to partner Lil Frodo and its young creative leadership team to bring this unique show on Sony. This will further strengthen our weekend leadership position.”

Preeti Simoes, the producer and creative director, Lil Frodo, also stated: “Comedy, undoubtedly is the most loved genre. Therefore, we now bring our next weekend blockbuster that showcases different shades of humor with an impressive line-up of seasoned talent bonding together. This is an attempt to bring theater and its elements on television.”
